How to do  A Simple Financial Blue Print Using the IOAL Formula

The tried and true principles of saving and spending less seem to be the only financial literacy that most of us are exposed to. For so many of us, that means we are armed with little knowledge about one of the most important aspects of our lives, which is how to manage the money that we all need to function and enjoy the experiences that give meaning and depth to our lives.

THE BEGINNING OF MY FINANCIAL EDUCATION

我的金融教育的开始

I love to help others help themselves by providing solutions that can help them double their income and triple their time off. When I started out , it wasn’t easy for me. I had a hard time growing up. I was definitely considered a problem child. In fact, I probably spent more time in the hallway than I did in the classroom!

我喜欢帮助他人，通过一些简单的解决方案来使他们获得双倍的收入和三倍的时间休息。 大家都知道万事开头难，当我开始的时候，这对我来说并不容易，我有着一段非常艰难的成长经历。 小时候，我被认为是一个问题儿童，事实上,我可能在学校走廊转悠花费的时间要比坐在教室里花费的时间还多！

Yet, that was not time that I wasted. In stead, I used it to dream and stretch my imagination, growing and developing my EQ versus my IQ. Since I was out there already, I got to know everyone. To me, a stranger was just a friend that I hadn’t met yet.

I was ready to quit school at age 12. yet, there were moments and individuals that helped me during this academic struggle. I had a counselor who taught me a secret that helped me to learn the 9 multiplication tables in seventh grade. At that point, I was skipping school on a regular basis. I was hauled back to school by a truant officer and assigned to a counselor named Tom. He became my friend, and told me that if I was determined to leave school, there were certain basic things that I need to know, such as reading, writing, and arithmetic.

12岁那年，我本打算辍学。但是，在我犹豫期间，我的辅导老师帮助了我，也是他后来传授了我一个秘诀，使我很快学会了七年级的九九乘法口诀表。在认识这位辅导老师之前，我经常逃学，后来，一名负责检查旷课的老师把我带回学校，交给了这位名叫汤姆的辅导老师。从此，我和汤姆老师成了好朋友。他告诉我，如果我下定决心要离开学校，我需要掌握一些最基本的东西，比如阅读，写作和算术。

That was when he found out that I didn’t even know my 9 multiplication tables. He helped me fill out a job application with a short quiz on it. One part of the quiz was the 9 multiplication tables. I had to write the multiplication table from 1 to 9, put four triangles in a square, and then mail it in. As I did the multiplication table, I counted down (see below),  then I put an X in the box. Now I decided to mail it myself, but being dyslexic, I wrote my name and address on the front, and the address I wanted to send it to on the back. I forgot to put a stamp on it, but I did remember to put it in the mailbox. A week later, I received the call to come in for an interview for the position of an office boy. More about that later.

Step One: I didn’t know my ‘Nine Times Tables’ [9x] but I knew 1 x 9 was 9 because I could count up to 9 on my fingers on both hands. So in the table below under ‘A’  starting with 2 x 9  I  counted the down 1 to 8.

Step Two: I wasn’t sure that I counted correctly so to make sure I counted again starting from bottom back up from 1 to 8.   Clearly I didn’t know the correct answers but by following a counting system I came up withe correct results as shown below:

You may also note that 2 patterns 1) that each of the two digits add up to 9; and 2) the answers 45 and 54 are the reverse of each other and that this pattern is reflected upward and downwards [ 36 & 63; 27 & 72; 18 & 81].

The Beatles in the ‘White Album’ did something similar with a song called, ‘Number 9’  which played both backwards and forwards – maybe you can give me the hidden message behind it.

那时在加拿大，12岁已经是合法打工年龄了。所以，汤姆老师帮我填写了一份求职申请表，申请表中附有一个简短的测试，其中有一部分是九九乘法口诀表。 它要求我必须从1到9编写乘法表，（将四个三角形放在一个正方形中）。当我编写乘法表时，我写错了顺序（参见图表），我在测试的空格里填写了一个X，那时，汤姆老师才发现我居然不懂九九乘法口诀表。当所有表格和测试填写完成后，我决定自己邮寄这封求职信。但是因为我有阅读障碍，我没有读懂寄信的规则，我在信封的前面写了我的名字和地址，而把收信人的地址写在了信封的背面（收信人的地址应该写在信封前面），刚好写反了位置。而且，我还忘了贴邮票，但我清楚地记得，我把邮票放进了邮箱。 一个星期后，我接到了一个电话，邀请我去面试，职位是办公室勤杂工。 稍后会详细介绍。
